Q: How cool is a new Honda Civic 2009?
Just wondering. Would you want a car like that?

A: Reliable?Yes Economical?Yes Practical?Yes Cool? No It's a boring car. It does alot of things well, but it seems to me to be an appliance, there's no personality, no soul.

Q: Window tinting a 2009 Honda Civic EX coupe?
I am looking to lease a 2009 Honda Civic EX coupe manual and i want to get black window tinting done to it. How much would it cost for the dealership to do it? And will the dealership do window tinting if i am leasing the car for 36 months?

A: I personally would not tint a car I'm leasing. Since you're just borrowing it, you don't want to throw extra money into it... right? You have to see if they'll allow it, they might not. Did you look over the contract, did it say anything about aftermarket/mods? This is what I'd do. Go to your dealer, and see if they will throw it in with the lease or if they can do it for a tiny fee.

Q: Scion 2006 xB vs Honda Civic Hybrid 2009 or 2008 CO2 Emissions, whats the difference in emissions?
hi im thinking about getting either a Scion xB 2006 or a Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 or 2009, i was just wondering whats the emissions on the scion xB (or in fact any car that size) vs a Hybrid car?

A: According to the EPA, the 2006 Scion xB automatic emits 6.6 tons of CO2 for every 15,000 miles driven: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/2008car1tablef.jsp?id=22127 The 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid emits 4.4 tons of CO2 for every 15,000 miles driven: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/compx2008f.jsp?year=2008&make=Honda&model=Civic%20Hybrid&hiddenField=Findacar Basically the Civic Hybrid emits about 33% less CO2 than the Scion xB. Personally I'd rather go with a Toyota Prius than the Civic Hybrid though. The Civic Hybrid uses a friction-belt-driven CVT transmission and torque converter, while the Prius uses a toothgeared PSD transmission with the electric motor directly geared to the wheels (which is simpler and more durable). And the 2009 Prius emits 4.0 tons of CO2 for every 15,000 miles driven: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/compx2008f.jsp?year=2009&make=Toyota&model=Prius&hiddenField=Findacar

Q: 2008 Honda Civic vs 2009 Toyota Corolla?
I'm getting a new car, and I've narrowed my choices down to a 2008 Honda Civic and 2009 Toyota Corolla. After a bit of negotiation, I got both of them down to about the same price. Question is - how do they differ? Is there anything the Corolla has that the Civic doesn't and vice versa? Do any of oyu have any insight? I have never had a Toyota or Honda before. Which one should I get?

A: The Honda is more powerful, faster, and more reliable. It is also more fun to drive and handles better. And looks better. The Corolla is almost as reliable. It has a quieter and slightly smoother ride and slightly more room in the back. It gets the same gas mileage. It depends on what you prefer. Smooth and quiet, Or Fun and quick.

Q: 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Honda Civic owners who change their own oil... how difficult is it to do?
Is it as easy (or easier or harder) than a Toyota Corolla to change the filter and oil? Pictures of where the oil filter is located would be appreciated.

A: its easy to do once you get the car in the air. My civic wouldn't go up the ramps that I have, so I had to use a jack to jack it up and then put it on jack stands. After that it was smooth sailing!!

Q: 2009 Honda Civic LX or 2009 Toyota Corolla LE?
So I'm gonna get a brand new car and have narrowed it down to either a 2009 Civic or 2009 Corolla. I can get a Civic for $16,200 or the Corolla for $15,300. Which car would be the better one to purchase?? Also are these good prices for the vehicles or should I negotiate even lower. Thanks! :)

A: toyota and honda are both good makes. ME personally would go for the civic!!

Q: 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid Acceleration?
Does anyone have a video of the 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid accelerating from 0-60 mph that is posted on the internet, or can anyone find one? I have heard that it has a slow acceleration, but i want to see if there are any videos on it. I am very interested in this car, but i don't know if i want a slow car. Thank You! First one with a video of this gets the 10 points.

A: The most common figure I see for the HCH 0-60 is 11.6 seconds or so. Keep in mind the HCH is not designed for performance. It is designed to maximize fuel economy with a tiny 1.3L engine and a friction-belt-driven CVT transmission, so it's not going to win any launches off the green light. Even the Toyota Prius will beat it by about a second or so. If you want a hybrid with some pep under the hood but still has respectable fuel economy, the most affordable one right now would be the Nissan Altima Hybrid. It has a 2.5L engine coupled to Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive which Nissan licensed for use in that car. 190 horsepower, about 7.6 seconds 0-60. There ARE sporty hybrids tuned for performance rather than fuel economy, but those are expensive. It would be something like the Lexus GS450h, which can do 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. It takes advantage of an electric motor's ability to exert maximum torque starting at 0 RPM, which an internal combustion engine cannot do.

Q: I have a 2009 honda civic that yesterday when i try to use the key to turn the ignition, it wouldnt turn.?
It was working perfectly when I was driving there, when I was going to leave, I try to turn the ignition with the key it won't turn? I tried a couple of times then it suddenly work. Does anyone knows whats wrong with it ?

A: You more than likely locked the steering column which is an anti-theft feature. Next time it happens, just turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, or right, and try to turn the key.

Q: 2009 Honda Civic or 2009 Toyota Corolla?
I am looking to purchase a car that gets 35 MPG. These are the two choices I have narrowed it down to, and am looking for some opinions on the two. Thanks in advance!

A: Both are excellent vehicles, that should give you many years of trouble free service, provided routine maintenance is followed. Having ridden in both vehicles, the Corolla seems a little more boring to me. Also, if you have a taller driver or passenger, their knee may rest uncomfortably on the dash, which unfortunately isn't padded as well. You say you've already narrowed down your choices, but if you want to stick with Honda and Toyota, don't cross off the Yaris or Fit, they get excellent gas mileage as well. Good luck with your choice!

Q: Should I get the 2008 Honda Civic or the 2009 Toyota Corolla?
I am 16 years old and this will be my first car. I have checked safety and reliablilty for both and both ranked very well although JD Power gave the civic a high rating in all most all categarties. For those of you who have one which would be better for a female 16 year old who will do mostly city driving as well as a little driving on narrow roads in the country

A: The Toyota I believe is a better car. Either car would be OK for someone your age. You can get some honest ratings by buying the Consumer Reports Auto Guide or seeing if your local library has it.

Q: can i use thumbdrive/pendrive/flashdrive on honda civic 2009 audio system?or do i need to use an mp3 player?
can the AUX input use a normal mass storage device such as pendrive as music data source or do i need to use an mp3 player such as an ipod or other brands of mp3 player

A: Yes, you can use any of those devices if they have USB. You CAN'T use them with the AUX input jack. You will need to use the USB in the center console under the armrest. The AUX input is for a double male auxiliary cable to go from the headphone jack of a source(iPod/Zune/ tape player).
