Q: How difficuilt is it to install a muffler on a 1994 honda civic?
I have a 1994 honda civic coupe. I am looking into buying a muffler off of ebay, but was wandering if I will need to purchase any more parts, and how difficuilt is the installation?
A: You could take it to a muffler shop or a weld shop and they could weld one on for you.
Or you could also buy a replacement muffler and you'd have to unbolt the pipes underneath your car and bolt the new one in. There are these little rubber things that hold the hold thing suspended on the bottom. The only worry is that sometimes the bolts on the exhaust pipes get stuck really bad because of the intense heat they can be subjected to. I'd say get under your car and check the bolts, they should be near the rear wheels, to see if they will come loose. Chances are they should. If they will then I'd buy a new muffler and put it on yourself if you can find one. Both ways will cost you about the same but if you do it yourself at least you'll know the quality job you had done. At a shop you will never know how good of a job they did.
Overall, swapping the muffler out is really simple so if you can find the muffler for your car, which is the hardest part, I'd say just do it yourself. Good luck!
Q: How much should i pay to lease a 2009 Honda Civic EX Manual?
I am looking to lease a black manual honda civic ex in the next couple of months and i was wondering how much i should pay.
I want to lease it for 36 months, $500 down, with 12,000 miles a year.
I know you're suppose to negotiate the price of the car first, so how much should i look to pay? Do you think i could get it for $250 a month?
A: Not with $500 down.
Right now the special lease program from Honda is $149/mo for the VP with $2699 not including taxes and fees. They also have $189/ mo for the LX with $1999 not including your taxes and fees.
Both of these cars are lower in trim then the EX. You also need to qualify for these programs.
Despite what you may hear a lease is good for certain people not just corporations. Less then 10% of people EVER pay off a car. I like to lease so I can get a new car more often and not being stuck with a car I don't like. Plus, I don't not end up like most people that roll negative equity forever on to the next car they get. I see people all the time that did buy and they rolled the negative and now they are needing to get out of that car and are buried so deep they have no choice but to keep the car they don't want or can't use due to life changes(kids).
Q: What is the STRONGEST Engine for a HONDA CIVIC?
i have a 1999 Honda Civic and wondered what is the strongest engine i can get to boost performance. Plus what little installments can i make that'll boost performance. thanks
what about the b16 engines?
A: the best engine for a civic will be a k20a (type-r jdm) boasting about 220 hp, however this engine is very expensive and will most likely require a professional installation, all in all this swap will run you around $8,000, you could do any other k20 swap as well but the type-r is obviously best. Next in line would be a b18c vtec, the type-r will cost only a little less than the k20a but install is much easier, if you went with a b18 you'd be best off with a gsr swap, it puts out good numbers and will save a lot of cash vs type-r. There are also the lsvtec ( b18b with b16 head ) and crvtec ( crv b20 and b16 head ) options but you will lose reliability. H22 is a good powerhouse but this is also a tough install and that engine is flat out heavy, your car will push like crazy and if you want all around performance (handling, braking, and acceleration) you might regret puting this giant under the hood... and you will need to stiffen the suspension before you drive the car with the h22. B16's are good very reliable engines and in my opinion they are the best bang for the buck, you could complete a b16 swap for less than $2,000 with a little shopping around. I currently have a first generation b16a with only intake, header and exhaust in my 88 4dr and can tell you it is fast enough to beat early 2000 model mustang gt's.
As far as boosting performance other than an engine swap... intake, header, exhaust, high flow cat, light weight flywheel, clutch, pullies, carbon fiber parts, light weight wheels, camshaft, valves... the list goes on and on. Easiest thing would be intake, header, exhaust, cat, ecu chip, bypass power steering, bypass air conditioning during the cold season, free weight reductions, and stay away from large rims ( they are heavy unless you buy light weight ones). there is a ton of information out there and a ton of upgrades and swap options, hondas are like legos, you can swap out just about anything.
Q: Does a Honda Civic have a RCA jack in the back of the integrated original stereo?
I have a 2003 Honda Civic (2 Door) and want to connect an amp and sub to it. So does the original stereo have RCA inputs? If it doesn't how can I connect the amp to the stereo?
A: I doubt it. You are going to have to buy a Line Out Converter to be able to hook an amp up to your stock stereo.
Q: How can I make my 2002 Honda Civic Coupe look and drive more sporty on not too crazy a budget?
I have a 2002 Honda Civic Coupe Ex, white, not a scratch. I'm looking for some ways to juice up its power and make it look a little more sporty. (purchased this car for my son as a gift for finishing grad school. Would like it to appeal to a 24 year old male.) Any ideas? I'm not on the biggest budget but want to do what I can. Thanks!
A: As far as looks, you can lower it some and get aftermarket wheels for it.
For power, you can install aftermarket parts like a cold air intake, headers, and exhaust.
Either way, you're spending some good money. Doing both will cost you a lot.
Q: How do I replace the stoplight switch in a 1987 Honda Civic?
I was just told that the cause of my brakelights not turning off was a bad brakelight switch. I picked-up a replacement for the switch, but I am clueless on how to replace it. I have found guides online, but none of them for my car. I have a 1988 Honda Civic with automatic transmission and the hatchback body type. Can anyone lend me a hand. Also, if it is possible, provide visuals. I'm not a "car" person, but I follow directions well, so with much details provided, I can replace it easily. Thanks to anyone who can help.
A: If you follow your brake pedal up it is setup oon the arm of the brake pedal. Once you remove it you will see how the new one goes in. They usally only snap in with some circlips or the like. Simple in and out.
Q: How much does a transmission fluid flush cost for a honda civic?
2005 honda civic lX,is it better to get it done with a dealer?

Q: what is the insurance difference between a Honda Civic coupe and a sedan?
Im planning on buying a 2009 Honda Civic coupe, but my parents say that the insurance for a coupe is more expensive, and thus they prefer I get a sedan. theyre probably right, but im wondering how much the difference is.
ill be 19 in april, will have had my license for 3 years in june. I live in southern California
A: Some insurance companies consider 2 door cars as sport car so the insurance is more expensive, the best way to know that is to get quotes online, you can do it here

Q: What kind of used Honda Civic Sedan could I get for 4-5K?
Hi,
I'm looking for a Honda Civic Sedan for 4-5K from a dealer. For those of you out there familiar with these cars, what kind of year/mileage should I look for? I only use a car for light errands (drive only about 2k miles a year) but I would like something reliable enough to get on the highway with. BTW I do have a trade in ('99 Sebring convertible) but I don't expect much for it.
A: You could get a 96-00 EX sedan for your price range. The miles is going to be a bit over 100k miles of course. I got my 1999 civic ex sedan with 68k mile for 6900. Good luck
Q: How to lower my Honda Civic 1 inch by cutting the springs?
I have a 94 Honda civic and I want to lower it about 1 inch, how much would I have to cut off of the springs to do that??

an inch would be like 1 coil probably.. maybe half in the back.
Q: What Is the Best Honda Civic to Supe up?
Im looking to buy a used honda civic under 10k and I am wondering what is the best model to supe up? what models do people buy for street racing? whats the best performing model? I believe it was the si coupe but im not sure. If anyone knows what civic is the *classic upgradable civic* please tell me, thanks.
A: the best off-the-line civic is the '99-'00 civic si. those are rare, though. if you plan on doing an engine swap, it doesn't really matter what civic you get. i would go for a '94-95 hatch, as hatches are lighter (and i think they look better). those would go for like $3000-4000, and you then have $6000 left to supe it up. truthfully, all the civics are pretty easy to modify. your best bet, if you're looking to street race, is to buy the cheapest civic you can find with decent exterior. get an engine swap . $2000 for the engine, do the work yourself or find a friend who can. (http://www.teknotik.com/product_sections/engine_disp.php?id=30). you can do all that for $3000, and then have all that money left over to do whatever.
Q: How do I get the best price on a Honda Civic?
I have a honda ridgeline now, and want ti trade it in for a Civic.
How do I get the best price for a civic? I notices that there is a MSRP price and the sales price, its always $3000 - $5000 more then MSRP. How can I get the BEST ptice?
A: We just checked out the internet prices of the dealer by us (we have a Pilot and are thinking of trading it in). Their internet price is about 17k for the LX, and 18500 for the EX. The dealer you're looking seems to be playing on the popularity of the civic during the current gas crunch to go over the MSRP. Ours is a really popular dealer in a big town, and under the MSRP on their internet prices.
You can subscribe to consumer reports real car prices. I think it's about $20 for six weeks, and will give you the true cost dealers in your area pay for ANY vehicle. This is a fantastic tool to take into the dealership with you.
Best of luck! I hope it works out for you. We're still trying to decide. :)
Q: Where to find replacement temperature dial for my Honda civic?
Hi guys, I have a 1995 Honda civic and I'm looking to buy a replacement knob/dial/button type part for the temperature adjustment on my car. You know the bit in your car that you slide left and right to adjust the temperature? Yeah, the knob for it was gone when I bought it and so far I have been able to insert a long key and just shove the adjustment lever left and right but it's getting annoying. Any ideas where I can find a knob to fix it with?
A: Go to your local auto parts junkyard. If you're lucky, you'll find the same model and year of your car which you can pull the part from.
Good luck!
