Q: Advise.....Jag or BMW?
I'm thinking of getting either an S-Type Jag or a BMW Z3 and would like to know if anyone has any genuine comments. I'm looking at purchasing one from about 2000 (year).
Thanks.
A: Depends upon what you need the car for. If you need to carry more than one passenger then it has to be the S Type but if you are mostly by yourself then I would prefer the S Type.
Q: Can I get $2,500 for a car that's not running?
I have a 98 Acura Integra GSR in Supersonic blue that I bought in CA back in 2000 for $13,600. One of bearing went bad and the cars hasn't been driven for almost two years. This car has only been driven one winter and has no rust. The body need some work to make perfect. This car was one of the first to have BMW Z3 real fenders and Supra tail lights. The door handles been shaved and the only way to get in the car is through a remote which I lost. The motor as 123xxx miles on it. I was told that it's repairable at a machine shop. If the car was running I would ask $7000. Considering what one will have to pay to get a JDM motor replacement which goes about $2700, asking $2500 isn't bad. Would a buyer see this as a great deal or plainly too much for a car that's not running? I don't have the money to fix it myself.
A: There is no way you would ever, ever get that much money. If it can't be driven the buyer would have no idea what is wrong with the car, could be the engine, could be the transmission, could be everything. Even a pro mechanic would inspect the car by starting it up and driving it. You'd have to find a real sucker to push it off on. You should probably fix it yourself if you want to sell it for more than a few hundred dollars.
Or, maybe you could just find the right guy, a true import aficionado, that will recognize your car as being so much special and different from every other 10 year old worn out car out on the road. This type of person would pay thousands more than anyone else because he will recognize its true value.

A: If I could afford a car...I would get a boat instead.
Q: Rude comment? My BF said this...?
My boyfriend and I were talking about cars. We were talking about the Honda 2000. I said it was kinda a chick car (like a BMW Z3 or Mazda Miata). He said is is not a chick car because for 1, many women can't afford them. What the hell? I thought that was completely sexist and rude. What do you think? Sure my boyfirend makes more money than me. But my mom makes twice what he makes.
A: Give that piece of shit a piece of your mind....he is definately a sexist. I will tell you this, my boss is a lady, the only one in the factory, and she controls 45 men all older than her in the Board of Directors...guess what she drives..............a Red Ferrari? Too expensive for a lady? Think again.....
Q: Carfax says "rear impact, car disabled, car towed" Should I avoid to buy this car?
I'm looking at a rear wheel drive BMW Z3, the car looks and feels perfect however carfax shows an accident, Rear impact. Police report says "vehicle disabled" and "vehicle towed"
They're offering the car $2000 cheaper then market value, I just don't know if I should buy it or skip to another one. I mean if it's disabled, it's damaged bad.
I'm in NJ, car is in FL, I have someone to go and check the car in FL but I'm also concerned if I can't register the car here because of the accident history.
What do you think?
the car is %100 running condition, looks like new and drives like new. the "accident" appears only in carfax. I don't know where it was repaired, I will ask.
A: Forget it. Find another car. This one was hit so hard it had to be towed away. That's a hefty impact. That means the quarter panels and trunk were pushed so far forward, the wheels wouldn't turn. And it most assuredly had rear suspension damage too.
The BMW is rear wheel drive with rear independent suspension. Anytime it gets rear ended so badly that it has to be towed, the rear suspension takes a beating too. You'll have nothing but serious problems with it for as long as you own it.
And the door and rocker panels could've been caved in too. That always happens when that car gets whacked in the back that hard. It weakens the car overall and causes the body to flex when you go over train tracks, speed bumps or up driveways. You'll have squeaks and rattles forever. And it won't be as safe as it was before the accident.
Avoid it. Find another one. You'll sleep better.
Q: If you could spend $500 on any car stereo which one would you pick and why? Should I get one w/a GPS?
I have a 2000, BMW Z3 Roadster. It came stocked w/ Harmon Kardon speakers & a crappy stereo (w/1disk CD changer). It melted in Houston.
I want the best of the best. BMW Stereos are way to expensive. I would choose a "Bose" but I guess, they only makes car stereos for certain car models. What about one w/a GPS? Help!!!!!!! Please
A: Its preference.
Everybody has different views on things.
Some people likes the visual effect, some like the performance and don't care what it looks like.
I personally don't care about the look all that much and performance is my thing.
For me I like to go with:
Alpine
Kicker
MTX
Rockford Fosgate
There's more that is good, maybe even better but I havent experienced their products.
Anyways, go with what feels and sounds right.
Good luck!
